Kiwanis Band

The Kiwanis Band was a group of local businessmen that performed at fund raisers and community events and every year they spearheaded a drive to sell apples to raise money for community projects. They wore straw boater hats and blue blazers and had a very well rehearsed program of songs like When Your Smiling and Happy Days Are Here Again, modified to be Apple Days Are Here Again. This picture was taken in the CHAT TV studios in 1962 where they would put on a half hour show while promoting the apple sales campaign.  Left to right  Stan Weiler(sax)…Tom Dutton (sax) ..Al McMorran ( lap Guitar)..Ted Slack (guitar)???…Stan James (accordion)..Les Mann (drums)…Charlie Pattison (bass) ???…Jack Edwards (piano)…Jim Millar (vocals)
